A man has held a knife to a woman's throat during a pharmacy robbery in Northern Ireland.

A man has held a knife to a woman's throat during a pharmacy robbery in Northern Ireland.

The man, who was wearing a motorcycle helmet, entered the chemist's shop on Donegall Road in south Belfast at around 3.15pm yesterday afternoon.

He took a knife to a sales assistant's throat and demanded specific types of prescription medication, including the painkiller Tramadol. "The man appeared to know exactly what he was looking for," a police spokeswoman said.

It is believed he made off in the direction of Broadway. The man is described as being 5ft 9ins tall, and was wearing a dark motorcycle helmet with a red and blue badge on the front.
