Police in Northern Ireland are investigating an armed robbery on a cash-in-transit van today in which a raider escaped with a "substantial sum" of money.
The van was making a collection and delivery to the Carryduff shopping centre in Bangor shortly after 3.30pm when one of the guards was grabbed by an unknown assailant and threatened with a knife, a PSNI spokeswoman said.
She said the guard received a small stab wound to the chin and was then further assaulted and his helmet knocked off.
The raider grabbed the money box containing a substantial sum of money and made off in a gold coloured pick-up truck.
He was described as aged 20-25, of thin build and wearing dark clothing.
Police in Bangor are seeking witnesses to the robbery or any information that may help in the case.
