Detectives are investigating the death of a prominent loyalist paramilitary and his fiancée in Co Antrim, reports Suzanne Breen.
The bodies of Mr Thomas Daly (29) and Ms Leanne McKee (26) were found at their home in Newtown-
abbey on Saturday night.
Post-mortems were being carried out yesterday but it is understood Mr Daly, who local people said was a well-known UDA figure, stabbed Ms McKee to death before hanging himself.
The couple were due to be married in May. PSNI sources said they were conducting a murder investigation, but were not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths.
It is understood that Ms McKee's three-year-old daughter was not in the house at the time.
Four quizzed over drug find released
Four people who were arrested following the seizure of €250,000 worth of cocaine in north Co Dublin were released without charge yesterday.
Gardaí are preparing a file for the DPP following the release of the three men and one woman aged between 17 and 21. The arrests followed the seizure of the drug in a house in Santry, north Dublin last Friday.
Meanwhile, three men aged 20, 28 and 30 were being questioned in Longford town last night after gardaí seized €200,000 worth of ecstasy on Saturday in a search of a house in the town.
Suspect dissident republicans held
Gardaí in Dublin investigating the activities of dissident republicans were last night questioning two men in Dublin. A third man who had been arrested in the midlands was released over the weekend.
The arrests last Friday followed raids in an apartment in Citywest Hotel in Dublin and premises in the midlands. Firearms and ammunition were recovered.
