Police operation recovers firearm near Lurgan

The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) recovered a firearm during a security alert in Co Armagh last night.

Police were told of a suspect car abandoned in Shane Park in Lurgan last night. Three controlled explosions were done on the suspect vehicle during the PSNI operation.

It is believed the car may have been used in an armed robbery in Lurgan earlier in the day.

Elsewhere, a house was attacked in the Whitehall area of Belfast last night when a device was thrown through the window. The device was a hoax as no explosives were found.
