Police in north Belfast have appealed for witnesses after two men were assaulted early this morning.
A PSNI spokeswoman said the men, aged 21 and 25, were assaulted at the Ainsworth Road area at around 2.30am.
They were believed to have been in a car that struck a pedestrian. When they got out to check on the man, they were set upon by the crowd, the spokeswoman said.
Both men were taken to hospital but their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Police would like to hear from the man, believe to be around 19 years old, who was knocked down by a car. They would also like to hear from anyone who was in the area and who witnessed the incident.
