Police in Bangor, Co Down, have renewed their appeal for witnesses to a gang beating that put two people in hospital yesterday.
One of the two men - both in their early 20s - who were attacked is in a very serious condition, police say.
The attack on the main street is being treated as attempted murder, and it is believed that as many six people were involved in the beating.
Police were alerted by a passing motorist and say passers-by may have seen the incident. Five men have been arrested and police will later today to seek to extend their term of detention at Bangor Crown Court.
