Police hunting the killer of an Asian boy are looking at CCTV footage from a service station that shows a man buying a petrol can and then rushing off, it emerged today.
The body of the boy, aged between 12 and 16, was stripped, beaten and burnt beyond recognition before being found in Roe Green Park, Kingsbury, north west London, on Tuesday.
Mr Mohammed Samsudeen (35), who works at a Total filling station less than half a mile from the park, said a man in his fifties came into the garage the day before and was behaving oddly as he bought a can full of petrol.
Mr Samsudeen said: "He came in and went straight for the petrol can, he didn't ask how much it was or anything. Then he went outside and filled it up with five litres, came back in and paid.
"He didn't say anything to me and he seemed in a hurry, not happy about something," he said.
