A 25-year-old Polish woman, who claims she was kidnapped and raped by two male compatriots, has told a Central Criminal Court jury she was beaten regularly by the older man.
She said she had a consensual sexual relationship with him after she came to Ireland with them in June 2004, expecting to find work here, and the alleged crimes happened about four weeks later.
She said, during her cross-examination by the older man, who is defending himself, that he would beat her at breakfast in their rented accommodation in a Galway town and he threatened she would "pay for it with my face" if anyone found out.
The woman, who is giving evidence through an interpreter, alleges the men imprisoned, raped and assaulted her last July.
The older man (29) has pleaded not guilty to two charges of assault and several charges of rape. The other man (25) denies rape charges.
The woman said she was left without clothes last July 17th.
The hearing continues.
