A total of 83 gardai will be on duty at the Manic Street Preachers concert in Smithfield, Dublin tonight with 22 members from specialist units. In a written reply to Mr Tony Gregory (Ind, Dublin Central), the Minister for Justice, Mr O'Donoghue, said Garda personnel and resources would cost an estimated £17,000.

He said he was also informed that the estimated contribution from the promoter was £10,143 for an additional 31 gardai who would be on duty of a non-public nature.
