The Minister for the Environment, Mr Cullen, is planning a review of the Electoral Act. Mr Cullen said he wanted to simplify the procedures for candidates and political parties.

He was introducing the Electoral Amendment (No 2) Bill - emergency legislation to extend the period for election candidates to furnish expense statements to the Standards in Public Office Commission.
