Bolton (17) v Middlesbrough (10)

Bolton are without defender Florent Laville, who is suspended. Sam Allardyce is likely to cover his loss by switching Bruno N'Gotty into the middle to partner Gudni Bergsson, playing his final game before retirement. Anthony Barness could be reinstated at right-back.

Boro striker Malcolm Christie will attempt to play through the pain barrier before undergoing surgery on his hernia problem. Ugo Ehiogu and Colin Cooper (both knee), Szilard Nemeth (hamstring) and Michael Ricketts (Achilles) have all been having treatment this week but manager Steve McClaren will hope to have most, if not all, of them fit. Charlton defenders Richard Rufus, Mark Fish and Gary Rowett are still out with knee injuries. Graham Stuart could make only his fourth appearance of an injury-ravaged season.

Fulham caretaker-boss Chris Coleman has decided between Maik Taylor and Edwin van der Sar at Charlton - but he has not revealed his verdict. Dutch international Van der Sar, fit again after four months out with a broken foot, has sat on the bench for the last two games and watched Taylor help secure the Cottagers' Premiership status. John Terry could return for Chelsea after missing last week's defeat at West Ham because of a thigh strain. He has trained this week and Claudio Ranieri will have to decide whether to recall him or stick with Marcel Desailly and William Gallas. Ranieri also has attacking options to consider after naming Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink on the replacements' bench last week when he opted to start with Gianfranco Zola and Eidur Gudjohnsen.

Liverpool boss Gerard Houllier has a major doubt over midfielder Dietmar Hamann, who is suffering from a shin injury received in last weekend's 2-1 home defeat by Manchester City - Salif Diao is on standby. Vladimir Smicer is out with a calf injury but Steven Gerrard has recovered from a hip problem.

Tomasz Radzinski is unlikely to be risked as he recovers from a groin problem.

Alex Ferguson is likely to make a few changes to his United side. Quinton Fortune needs one more appearance to earn a championship medal and can expect to be involved, as can Roy Carroll, who is in a similar position. Diego Forlan and Phil Neville may be given their reward for some impressive early-season performances, while Laurent Blanc can expect a farewell appearance. Darren Fletcher could be given his Premiership debut but Gary Neville (foot) is definitely out.
