The President, Mrs McAleese, opened a new community training centre in Dublin's south inner city yesterday. The Good Counsel Centre in Oliver Bond Street is funded by FAS and the City of Dublin VEC and will provide training for early school-leavers at risk.
Run by the South Inner City Community Development Association, it provides courses in woodwork, catering, retail sales, engineering, pre-apprenticeship training, training in basic computer applications, literacy and numeracy, social education, photography, courses for junior and leaving cert students and adult education.
