The President, Mrs McAleese, visits the North today to carry out several engagements. She will visit St Oliver Plunkett's National School in Forkhill, Co Armagh and then open Bunscoil an Iuir in Newry, Co Down.
Mrs McAleese then travels to Belfast where she will address a conference on respite care for people with learning disabilities and launch the New Start Millennium Awards.
This afternoon, she will deliver the Amnesty International lecture at Queen's University. Tonight, she will attend a concert to conclude the 40th anniversary celebrations of St Louise's Comprehensive School in west Belfast.
