Phillip Price's European Open win at the K-Club in Kildare last month has played a significant part in the Welshman being named the Asprey Golfer of the Month for July.

In a lucrative month when the 36-year-old won his third European Tour title, Price also accumulated €857,145 in prize money in a month where he finished first, tied second (Scottish Open) and 10th (The Open).

"It is wonderful news that I have been voted Asprey Golfer of the Month for July," said Price.

"I'd been a long time on Tour and I was getting a little irritated bybeing fairly consistent but not a winner very often. The thing thatpleased me most about the victory in Ireland was that everybody teed up. To win in that company was the next stage for me and I was delighted.
