The heir to the British throne arrived at the annual Balmoral agriculture show in south Belfast yesterday where he visited a number of exhibitions and presented prizes.

Among the local representatives he met were the new East Belfast MP and Belfast lord mayor Naomi Long and the South Belfast SDLP MP Alasdair McDonnell.

President Mary McAleese is also due to visit the Balmoral show this morning for a breakfast hosted by Stormont agriculture minister Michelle Gildernew. She will then carry out engagements in Belfast.
