The High Court yesterday dismissed a claim by a prisoner that the outcome of the June referendums, including the Nice Treaty vote, was materially affected because of the failure to facilitate his right to vote.
Mr Justice O'Neill rejected the legal challenge by Patrick O'Doherty (42), a company director, of Ballingarry, Co Limerick, to the conduct of the referendums on all grounds advanced by O'Doherty, who is serving a two-year sentence for tax fraud.
