EMI Group said on Monday its full-year pre-tax profit fell 8.7 per cent to £163.3 million sterling (€243.9 million), excluding exceptional items and goodwill amortisation.
Analysts on average expected a profit of £160.1 million, with expectations ranging from £135.4 million to £173.1 million, according to Reuters Research.
Turnover for the 12 months to March 31st at the world's third-largest music company fell 2.5 per cent to £2.12 billion, a decrease of 1.4 per cent excluding currency effects.
