Parents of children at a school in Co Cork that was closed last week due to a rat infestation are refusing to send children back after the rodents were removed.
Rahan National School, which is due to reopen today, was closed for three days last week after rats were found in its two prefabricated buildings.
Parents of the 91 children at the school are refusing to allow their children return to class.
It is understood the Department of Education is considering relocating the school to temporary accomodation while an application from the school to build new premises is made.
