Crowds in the Dunsink area of north Dublin have caused major traffic disruption tonight, as protests continue over the blocking off of a road in the area.
Ratoath Road, Cappagh Road, and the Ballycoolin Roads are worst affected. Gardai in Finglas are advising motorists to use alternatives routes, such as the N2, N3 and the M50.
The protests are in relation to the erection of a wall by Fingal and Dublin City Councils at one end of Dunsink Lane in Finglas after continued instances of illegal dumping.
Members of the Traveller community have said that they are being discriminated against and that the wall prevents them with access to doctors, shops and schools.
Similar delays are expected tomorrow, from seven a.m, when the protest are due to continue.
