Police in Derry are appealling for witnesses after a man was assaulted in the city in the early hours of the morning.
The 27 year old was taken tohospital suffering from what is believed to be serious injuries after teh incident, which took place on Foyle Street at about 2.15am.
Police are are seeking help from anyone who was in the area at the time, and are particularly keen to speak to a man in his early 20s who was seen in the area. He is described as being 5ft 8in with balck hair. He was wearing a navy tracksuit and white runners.
