Publicans will be obliged to display a price list near the entrance to their premises under a Retail Price Display Order issued yesterday. The Minister of State for Labour, Trade and Consumer Affairs, Mr Tom Kitt, said the price list would cover "over 90 per cent of the most popular drinks sold in licensed premises".
The list must be displayed "immediately outside or immediately inside" the pub's entrance. Mr Kitt has urged customers who find a pub's prices to be "unreasonably high" to take their custom elsewhere.
