A pub constructed within an apartment block should install noise-control measures so that residents would not be annoyed on nights it held music events, a judge advised yesterday.
Kate McCauleys pub, of Clanbrassil Street, Dublin, won the renewal of its music and singing licence after Judge James McDonnell dismissed an objection from a resident over noise nuisance.
However, Judge McDonnell said the proprietor, Mr Michael O'Neill, should consider installing an electronic sound limiter which cuts out amplified music when it reaches a certain level.
