Racists may be behind a petrol bomb attack on the homes of two South Korean groups in Northern Ireland, police said tonight.

Racists may be behind a petrol bomb attack on the homes of two South Korean groups in Northern Ireland, police said tonight.

The homes in Newtownabbey, close to Belfast, were attacked at around 10pm last night with petrol bombs and paint causing damage to a car and the front of the property.

No injuries were reported in the incident at Tobor Glen Crescent.

A Police Service of Northern Ireland spokeswoman said: "Local police wish to reassure the public that this type of attack will not be tolerated and remains a rare occurrence.

"Anyone found breaking the law will be dealt with robustly. Officers within Newtownabbey District Command Unit are fully committed to ensuring that Newtownabbey remains a safe place to live in and to work, regardless of community background or nationality."
