Rangers have completed the signing of Auxerre's French international defender Jean Alain Boumsong on a five-year contract.
Manager Alex McLeish said on Sunday: "It's a good bit of business for Rangers."
Boumsong, who turned 24 this morning, will join the Scottish champions at the end of the season after signing a pre-contract agreement.
The highly-rated Boumsong has won three caps for France and is expected to be part of their Euro 2004 finals squad.
