Real Madrid have agreed to sell French international midfielder Claude Makelele to Chelsea for £13.8 million sterling, according to Spanish press reports.
Sports daily Marcasays a deal was struck between the clubs in Monte Carlo yesterday at the Champions League draw and that the midfielder, who had made clear his disenchantment with Madrid recently by refusing to attend training, was now a Chelsea player.
The www.marca.eswebsite, traditionally very well informed on mattersconcerning Real Madrid, reported: "Claude Makelele is definitively leaving RealMadrid.
"The French international is already a new Chelsea player after a dealreached overnight in Monaco between the whites and the team of RomanAbramovich."
The website reported that Makelele is already in England and will sign hisdeal later today.
