Former assistant Dublin city and county manager Mr George Redmond, who faces corruption charges, was today further remanded on bail until October 23rd.
A preliminary hearing will begin in the case then.
Mr Redmond (76) faces four charges. The offences allegedly occurred when he worked with Dublin County Council in the 1980s.
One relates to the sale of land in Palmerston, Co Dublin, to a garage owner, Mr Brendan Fassnidge. It is alleged that Mr Redmond received a gift of money from Mr Fassnidge as an inducement or award in relation to the sale.
He is also accused of accepting money for showing favour to an individual.
The other two charges relate to the compulsory purchase by the council of 167 acres of land at Buzzardstown and Coolmine between June 1985 and June 1986.
It is alleged Mr Redmond corruptly received £10,000 as an inducement or reward for doing something, or forbearing to do anything, about the order.
Mr Justice David Anderson remanded Mr Redmond on continuing bail of £900 until October 23rd.
