A Sligo man was further remanded on three charges of making false statements to gardai when he appeared at Sligo District Court yesterday, writes Theresa Judge.
Mr Bernard Conlon (45), of Cartron Bay, Sligo, was arrested last week following a lengthy Garda investigation. He was charged with three counts of making false statements alleging an offence by another person. The statements are alleged to have been made on three dates between August and December 1998.
Mr Conlon first appeared at Enniscrone District Court last Friday where the court was told he had replied guilty when charged.
Supt Tadhg Foley asked the court yesterday for an adjournment to allow the book of evidence to be prepared. Judge Oliver McGuinness remanded Mr Conlon on bail until May 10th.
