The report into the Ryanair dispute which closed down Dublin Airport will be ready "in a matter of weeks", according to the Minister of State for Enterprise and Employment, Mr Tom Kitt.
He said the dispute had been "particularly unsavoury" and very complex, and the intervention of the Taoiseach to create a formula for resolving it had been "helpful at the time".
He was responding to Mrs Nora Owen (FG, Dublin North), who said the company had "let go" some more of the baggage-handlers involved in the dispute.
Mr Pat Rabbitte (DL, Dublin South-West) claimed that the chief executive of Ryanair was "thumbing his nose at the office of the Taoiseach". He said the delay in producing the report was "absurd" and that "none of the baggage-handlers will be left in Ryanair by the time they make their proposals".
Mr Kitt said he rejected Mr Rabbitte's suggestion that there was any procrastination by Mr Dan McAuley and Mr Phil Flynn, the two ` `highly skilled people" involved in carrying out the investigation into the controversial dispute.
