Disappeared: Bettina Poeschel

The results of a post mortem examination on a decomposed body found by the Garda searching for missing German journalist Ms Betina Poeschel are not expected until tomorrow.

Tests were carried out overnight at Our Lady's Hospital, Navan, by State Pathologist Dr John Harbison, but further investigations are needed to establish the time and cause of death.

The discovery of the partially-hidden body was made close to where the 28-year-old Ms Poeschel disappeared while on a sightseeing trip to Newgrange.

Search teams found the body outside the village of Donore, Co Meath, near Drogheda.
