The High Court yesterday granted liberty to the Collector General to enter final judgment for more than £1

The High Court yesterday granted liberty to the Collector General to enter final judgment for more than £1.5 million plus interest against a Co Tipperary farmer. The proceedings in respect of unpaid taxes were taken by the Collector General against Mr Thomas Purcell, of Fennor, Urlingford.

On the application of Ms Patricia Moran, for the Collector General, the Master of the High Court, Mr Harry Hill SC, granted liberty to enter final judgment against Mr Purcell in the sum of £1,588,844 plus further interest on the sums of £862,385 and costs.
