Revenues at mobile services group iTouch more than doubled in the first quarter of this year.

The group, which is 50 per cent-owned by Independent News & Media, said revenue in the three months to March jumped 104 per cent to £5.3 million sterling, 6 per cent ahead of revenue for the final quarter of last year. Pre-tax losses went from £3.3 million in the first quarter of 2001 to £4.5 million.

However, iTouch said losses were £0.2 million lower than in the final quarter of last year when the integration costs linked to acquisitions are stripped out.

The company said margins were coming under pressure in challenging market conditions, but it expected continued growth this year.
