Lost Brothers, Friday, Main Stage
Atmosphere: Very mellow mood in the field as Mark McCausland and Oisin Leech get the weekend¹s proceedings underway on the big stage.
Highs: robust, thrilling folky songs like Now That the Night Has Come and Angry at the Sun snare you with their craft, with McCausland and Leech (plus a few other characters who walk on and off the stage as the gig goes n) having the ability to make a Midlands' field seem like your front-room. It¹s a far cry from their previous stands as The Basement and 747s.
Low: There ain't really a lot of people here to see them but they probably knew that was the case when they said yes to the gig. Plus their mellow tunes might work better in another context.
Quote: "There¹s a right bang of Simon & Garfunkel from them" (random rock star in the audience)
Verdict: A grand start to the weekend¹s fun and games with the Lost Brothers
definitely making fans and friends for the future.
