Barbara Dawson was presiding over another exhibition opening this week but for once it was not at her own gallery, the Hugh Lane. Instead the Temple Bar Gallery was full of work by the artists who work in the studios, which Barbara selected for the show. Most of the artists were present - birthday boy Michael Colman chatted with Laura Gannon, who will start working in one of the studios soon, while Rachel Ballagh, who showed in the gallery last month, talked to Maurice O'Connell who was off to Morocco the next day.
Clea van der Grijn was not long back from Central America where she married photographer Paddy Jolley. On a scuba diving trip to Honduras, the couple exchanged rings (albeit rubber oxygen bottle sealant rings) on board a diving boat; they also had a more official registry office wedding in New York. They now plan to travel to India with Clea's young son.
