A 65-year-old man died at 6 p.m. yesterday after being hit by a car in Whitegate, Co Clare. Jimmy Minogue was from the area.

In Cloon, Co Tipperary 45-year-old Nigel Hoyle died after his car collided with a bridge at 7.30 p.m. A passenger in the car was seriously injured.

In Blennerville, Co Kerry 22-year-old Gary Sweeney from Connolly Park in Tralee died after the car he was a passenger in went out of control and hit a ditch. The incident occurred at 3 p.m.
