Gardai last night named a man who died in a traffic accident on the main Ennis-Scariff road yesterday morning as Mr Gerald Fenniman, a United States national.
Mr Fenniman (59) was married with three children and had lived in Barefield, Ennis, since 1980. He had worked as a security guard at Olympus Diagnostica at O'Callaghan's Mills in east Clare since 1998.
The accident, which occurred at 8.15 a.m., involved two vehicles. The driver of the other car escaped uninjured.
Gardai at Scariff are seeking witnesses to the accident and can be contacted at 061921002.
