Geneva - The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Ms Mary Robinson has begun a three-day visit to East Timor, which will include a journey to the site of the Suai Church massacre, where more than 100 people were killed during last year's unrest, her spokesman, Mr Jose Luis Diaz, said last night.
Ms Robinson will go to Suai in the west of the country. She is also due to meet UN Secretary General Kofi Annan's special representative in East Timor, Mr Sergio Vieira de Mello, as well as Mr Xanana Gusmao, head of the National Council of Timorese Resistance, and Bishop Carlos Belo, who won the Nobel peace prize.
