Rock Of Gibraltar, brilliant winner of the English and Irish 2000 Guineas and the St James's Palace Stakes, remains on course for a sixth successive Group One victory in the Sussex Stakes.
The three-year-old colt, part-owned by Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson, is among 27 acceptors for the Group One showpiece at Glorious Goodwood three weeks today.
He will be facing his elders for the first time in the contest with a total prize fund of £275,000.
The horse’s trainer Aidan O'Brien has a total of 10 horses left in the mile contest including Coronation Stakes heroine Sophisticat, and Landseer, winner of the French 2000 Guineas winner and runner-up in the St James's Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot.
Last year's Sussex victor Noverre is among six entries from Godolphin, as is Vodafone Derby third Moon Ballad.
There are two French entries - the Carlos Laffon-Parias-trained Keltos, conqueror of Noverre in the Juddmonte Lockinge Stakes at Newbury in April, and the three-year-old Medecis, from Criquette Head-Maarek's stable.
Additions to the field could be made at the supplementary stage, at a cost of £20,000, on July 25th.
