ISTANBUL - Two assailants fired an antitank rocket at the main police headquarters in Istanbul yesterday but there were no reports of casualties, officials said.
A man and a woman fired the rocket from the garden of a hospital across the road from the police station, in city centre, they added.
"Police forces have cordoned off the area. They are searching every inch to try to catch those responsible," the Istanbul governor, Mr Ridvan Yenisen, said. The pair fled after leaving behind the rocket launcher, as well as gloves used to avoid leaving fingerprints. Three men and one woman have been arrested in connection with the attack.
