Russia's new intercontinental ballistic missile, which was test fired today, can break through any missile shield, Itar-Tass news agency reported First Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Ivanov as saying.
When asked about the launch, Ivanov said Russia's "new tactical and strategic complexes are able to overcome any existing or future missile defence system," Itar-Tass reported.
"So from the point of view of defence and security Russians can feel safe," Ivanov said.
Russia today also test fired a short-range missile for its Iskander-M missile system. "I am very glad to say that these first, preliminary tests were successful," Ivanov said.
