Kiryat Shimona - Twenty-six rockets were fired on northern Israel last night from Lebanon, wounding 12 people and damaging property, Israeli military officials said.
The attack comes at a time of high tension following Israel's killing of a Lebanese militia chief, attacks on the Israeli-occupied zone in south Lebanon and the wounding of four civilians and a guerrilla in Israeli reprisals. The officials said the rocket fire was "intense and continuous" along the Lebanese-Israeli border.
