All mobile customers of the 3 network will soon be able to watch RTÉ television on their mobiles.

A new agreement between RTÉ television and 3 means customers will soon be able to watch the Tubridy Show, Off the Rails, Show Me the Moneyand other shows on their mobile phones.

Access to the RTÉ television shows will cost 50 cent for a 24-hour period and will be available to all 3Pay and pay monthly customers.

According to a statement issued by the company this morning, over 50 per cent of 3's customers already access entertainment on their mobiles. Earlier this year, 3 won "Best Mobile Entertainment" at the Digital Media awards for its range of mobile entertainment services.

David Riley, head of entertainment at 3, said: "We see your 3 mobile as being your personal TV - no sharing the remote this time, so you can watch what you want, when you want, where you want, up and down the country."

Muirne Laffan, executive director of RTÉ Publishing, said the new service was "part of RTÉ's strategy to make content and programmes available in a range of formats on multiple platforms - it's about offering our audience more choice".
