PASSENGERS FLYING with Ryanair this weekend to the Heineken Cup final could face a €60 booking fee if they don’t check in online by 4pm on Friday.

The Ryanair online booking facility will be down from 4pm on Friday to midnight on Sunday as the company launches a more streamlined website.

Tens of thousands of Irish supporters are expected to travel over for the all-Irish rugby final between Ulster and Leinster at 5pm in Twickenham Stadium, London, this Saturday.

Passengers flying over for the match from Friday to Sunday will have to ensure they check in for their return flight before they leave Ireland to avoid the charge.

Normally Ryanair insists that people travelling with them check in at least four hours before flying and print off their own boarding pass or face the charge, €60 in the Republic and £60 in the UK.

Ryanair insisted that flights will not be affected and that all passengers have been notified already.

"As manage my bookings will be unavailable during this website closure, we have advised all passengers due to travel over the coming weekend to check in on www.ryanair.combefore 4pm on Friday," Stephen McNamara, spokesman for Ryanair said.

The upgrade will improve the speed of the website and introduce live updates via SMS to customers on delays during mass disruption, such as adverse weather, air traffic control strikes or airspace closures, the company said.
