Silicon & Software Systems (S3) - an Irish subsidiary of Philips Electronics - said today it is investing €9 million to research and develop several advanced technologies which will create 20 jobs at its plants in Dublin and Cork.
S3 - which was founded in 1986 to provide integrated circuits and embedded software to other technology companies - said the investment will be used to develop technologies used in video recorders, high definition TVs, TV on mobile software and silicon chip design.
The firm - which is head-quartered in Dublin and employs 178 poeple in Ireland - said the move would create 20 high-value R&D roles at is facilities in Dublin and Cork.
