The Health and Safety Authority has ordered a safety assessment of all cranes on a Dublin building site after last week's partial collapse of a 200-foot crane at the site close to train tracks at Ringsend in Dublin.
A major section of the crane snapped off at a Dallinger Ltd construction site at the old Gasworks site last Sunday, and 70 residents had to be evacuated from their homes in the area.
According to reports this morning, the Health and Safety Authority has forbidden Danninger from using cranes to transport material over the roofs of houses or gardens in the area.
Train and DART services were severely disrupted after the crane collapse, and Iarnród Éireann said late last week it would bill Danniger for the loss of more than €150,000 in ticket revenue
