Titillating teapots crafted in the shape of erotic scenes from the Kama Sutra were snapped up by collectors today.
The hand-painted limited edition stg£195 pots feature couples in three positions from the ancient Indian love making manual.
There were just 30 of the special limited edition Summer of Love pots up for grabs at the the Cardew Teapottery collectors day in Bovey Tracey, Devon.
Hundreds of collectors, some from Europe, flocked to the event, which featured a wide range of speciality pots.
The Kama Sutra design was the brainchild of designer Paul Cardew who was determined to show that teapots can be sexy objects.
Cardew's managing director Peter Kirvan said today: "I expect some collector's pulses will be racing when they get hold of the Kama Sutra range.
"It is certainly the most unusual design of teapot we've done for a while - and we reckon this one will really hit their 'T' spots."
The hand crafted teapots - each a one off - feature a coupled pairing of a man and woman painted in brilliant colours with a lustrous glaze, including platinum and 18 carat gold leaf.
They are likely to become a highly collectable work of art that is both erotic and a working teapot.
And non collectors who feel an erotic teapot could boost their metabolic rate at breakfast also have the chance to buy similar pots.
The firm has produced a range of three different Kama Sutra teapots at stg£150 each - which are sold at selected retailers, including one in London's Soho.
"Not surprisingly they are going very well," said Mr Kirvan.
"They are not pornographic, they are erotic, hand-painted and actually very beautiful objects," he added.
