Scotland coach Ian McGeechan has moved Brendan Laney from inside-centre to outhalf for the first time at international level.

Out-half Gordon Ross and outside centre Andy Craig have been dropped for the game against France following last week's 36-6 defeat by Ireland.

Gregor Townsend is recalled at outside centre with Kevin Utterson winning his first cap at inside centre.

McGeechan has also switched wingers Chris Paterson and Kenny Logan.
