Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will perform at the RDS arena in Dublin next May 22nd, it was announced yesterday. Tickets will go on sale at 9am on Wednesday, November 28th, and are expected to sell out within minutes.

While Springsteen's shows are a huge draw in many parts of the world, he has particularly fervent support from Irish fans. All 34,000 tickets for four November 2006 concerts in Dublin and Belfast sold out in 25 minutes, and material from the Dublin performances was released on the CD/DVD set, Live In Dublin, which went to number one in Ireland's album charts.

A Madrid concert on Sunday will kick off Springsteen's European tour in support of his 23rd album, Magic. A sold-out Belfast performance is scheduled for the Odyssey Arena on December 15th.

Fans hoping to buy tickets for the May 22nd concert in Dublin will have the best luck online, concert organiser Aiken Promotions said, since more than 50,000 users can access the Ticketmaster website simultaneously.
