Waterford Corporation has invited entries for the 1997 Sean Dunne Young Writers Awards. They are a commemoration of the Waterford author, aimed at encouraging and supporting young writers. There is one award for Waterford-born or resident entrants, worth £200, and one nationwide, worth £500.
The winners will be offered a commission. The work produced will be published in the Waterford Review and the authors will be invited to participate in the Sean Dunne Literary Weekend in the city in March.
The Waterford entrants must be 21 years or under, while nationwide entries will be accepted from Irish-born or resident writers who are 30 years or under.
