Hong Kong - The World Health Organisation (WHO) has said it will take six months to be sure that the "bird flu" virus, which has killed six people in Hong Kong, has been contained, a local television reported yesterday.
Leading WHO flu expert, Dr Daniel Lavanchy, who is in the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou to investigate the virus with a team of doctors, was quoted by Cable TV as saying the search for a vaccine must continue. The avian virus, not known to affect humans till 1997, has left six people dead in Hong Kong.
