A major search operation is under way tonight for a fisherman feared drowned off the coast of Co Wexford.
The alarm was raised this afternoon after skipper Richard McNamara, swam ashore after the nine-metre boat Na Buachaillí went down some 100m from shore near Duncannon.
The second man - John Ennis (64), a father-of-four from Ballyhack - is missing.
The two men were fishing for mussels about 1km north of Duncannon when the boat overturned and sank at about 7.45am. Visibility was good and there were light winds in the area.
A search and rescue helicopter from Waterford airport, several local fishing vessels and lifeboat and coast guard crews from Fethard-on-Sea and Dunmore East all scrambled to the scene to search for the missing man.
Dunmore East lifeboat station spokesman Ciaran O Mullein said the stricken boat had been found on the seabed in about 17 metres of water off the coast between Duncannon and Arthurstown.
He said gale-force winds, heavy rain, high tides and strong currents were hampering search efforts.
